Velva Sheen are regularly cited as one of the premier t-shirt brands in the world. The Velva Sheen Manufacturing Company was established in Cincinnati in 1932. They produce a range of basics including t-shirts and sweatshirts for college sports teams, and the military.

What makes their T-Shirts stand out is their tubular knitting technique. They’re woven on traditional looms that remove the need for a side-seam in a t shirt. This helps improve comfort and fit. Velva Sheen stick to what they do best, and remain a favorite for many t-shirt aficionados today.

2. Stan Ray

What they make: Heritage wear

Based in: Crockett, Texas

Those who know Stan Ray will also know they’re loved by almost everyone who own an item of their Made in USA clothing. Interestingly, you may have also seen their clothes with labels for the brands Gung Ho, or EARLS. This is because the company owns three brands, and in the past they’ve been happy to change the labels based on requests from whoever is purchasing an order.

Stan Ray’s clothes are affordable, and they stick to this. There’s no inflating of prices because they’re hard to find, and they didn’t capitalize on the rise of heritage style by charging more.
